Position Responsibilities:

The Education Access Coordinator is primarily responsible for development, production coordination, and programming of MATV’s Education Access Channel (Cable Channel 15 in Malden), as well as overseeing the production needs of Malden's Salemwood K-8 School Studio. This position is also responsible for occasional special productions when needed by School departments. This full-time job requires day and some evening work.

The position requires a combination of training and experience in all areas of television production and post-production. The ideal candidate should be familiar with single-camera (ENG) and multi-camera (studio) style production methods. A basic knowledge of computer graphics software and MS-Office & Mac-based applications is desired as well as expertise with non-linear video editing, desktop computer graphics. Additionally, the best-suited candidate will have experience training volunteers and students in computer/video production courses which are basic components of this position.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

· Work closely with the Malden Public, Private & Charter schools to encourage the use of the channel by administrators, faculty, parents and students in creative and diverse ways to maximize the use of channels and new media technologies.
· Teach video production workshops to students, teachers and parents who will go on to produce programming about school issues and activities.
· Provide regular instruction and technical coordination at the Salemwood School TV Studio.
· Maintain regular communications and outreach efforts to the Office of the Superintendent of Schools and the School Committee
· Develop and maintain information and announcements on Channel 15 Electronic Community Bulletin Board
· Work to develop and create digital media curricula and materials for special populations and groups
· Research and obtain educational programming of interest to the general community
· Schedule & publicize programs on a regular basis
· Assist the MATV Educational Workshop Program when needed.
· Teach and promote the Kids Video Adventure Workshop summer program
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
